You’ll never guess, but after 4 times I finally passed the TOPT. And it wouldn’t have been possible without your help. Tomorrow I have an interview to become a bilingual teacher. I thank you so much.
Before studying with Jessica, my 1on1spanish.net teacher, I had tried to pass the test 4 previous times. After a few lessons with Jessica, I passed it on the fifth time. What’s surprising is that this last time the test had been changed significantly from the version used for the previous 4 tests. I still passed it!! It wouldn’t have been possible without 1on1spanish.net.
Even though I passed the test I want take more lessons to continue to improve my Spanish skills.
Thank you so much.
Your friend,
I’ve have found the instructor extremely helpful, patient, and clear in her presentation. The combination of one to one conversation plus grammatical exercises provided via the SKYPE text message system is a truly efficient way to improve and enhance my Spanish speaking and writing skills.
I took the free lessons that were offered and it blew me away. The teacher was very knowledgeable and it was clear she had experience teaching Spanish. I have had Spanish lessons in the past and this has been the best so far because the teacher can tailor make the lesson to suit your particular needs. Highly recommended.
The Spanish 1on1 program has been very helpful in preparing me for the TOPT test. I would recommend this method to teachers needing to take the TOPT. The TOPT is completely done orally and talking with someone who speaks spanish and corrects your grammar orally is advantageous in studying for the test. The lessons have also really improved my vocabulary database. It has been a while since I have spoken spanish or taken a spanish class so I have forgotten how to pronounce some words.
I love learning on line. It is convenient because I can stay home and not have to drive to a location everyday. There is also something interesting and fun about speaking to and learning from a person that is living in another country. When I first applied to the program, I had two free lessons, in which, I first met my teacher. My teacher was really nice and I was able to build a bond with her before I even started the program. Because of her patience and knowledge, I have felt comfortable througout all my lessons creating a great learning environment.
I recommend this program to anyone who needs or wants to learn spanish, but have a busy schedule. It is convenient, fun, and beneficial.
I am really happy with the service.
My interest in Spanish stems from a trip I made to Quito Ecuador in 2004 where I took Spanish lessons for three weeks. This is mostly for personal interest but who knows what will happen if I eventually manage to master the language. I have purchased some courses for self study both the Rosetta Stone as well as the new Fluenz, I find that I do not have the self discipline to use those as good as they may be. They are really boring and does not provide any speaking practice.
I found out about 1on1 Spanish from an advertisement on amazon.com and ordered trial lessons immediately. For me this is a really good way to learn. The discipline vested in having prearranged lesson hours and the ability to do this from virtually any location works perfectly for me. My schedule is pretty hectic during the winter months but anyone can fit in 50 minutes two times a week with relatively little effort.
The form is 100% interactive , and no option but to maintain undivided attention during the lessons.
The service is extremely easy to use – and by the way If you need to speak to me there is no better way than Skype. My user id is : hjortureir
I have had two instructors so far – Karla and Manuel. Both are really good although I think I am learning more from Karla since she speaks very little English. I am lazy by nature so with Manuel I have a tendency to use my English when I get stuck in the Spanish. With Karla I have no option but to use my very limited Spanish.
I think that I must have taken about 10 lessons so far but Chaim most likely has better information on that.
My daughter has been taking some lessons to help her out with high school Spanish. Like many youngsters she is a little lazy and finds this difficult – but at the same time productive and rewarding. In some respect I share her opinion, but in a positive way. I think it is good that the lessons are difficult since that benefits my progression in the language.
I took these classes to brush up on my Spanish and it works very well for me. My teacher was able to quickly determine my language weaknesses so she could work on those. She’s also a very patient teacher who brings lots of experience and teaching skills to each lesson. The lessons are planned according to my abilities and we go over things at a rate I’m comfortable with. I recommend this to anyone who wants to learn Spanish or just to brush up on their skills.
What strikes me is the ability of a teacher thousands of miles away to become so familiar with your abilities. It’s revolutionary. I’m in the comfort of my home, taking the class as my schedule permits with a teacher in another country. The technology works very smoothly. She’s talented and experienced and easily recognizes what I need to work on. And when I have a problem, we stop and work on it. It’s one of those things I wish I had thought of.
Taking my high school Spanish to another level has been a goal I’ve had for many years but there was never a convenient way to learn with a busy schedule. Doing your classes was just what I needed – convenience with courses tailor made just for me. I learned heaps in my first lesson and look forward to the next one.
I live in Norway and it is difficult to find someone to speak Spanish with. Most of my Spanish study so far has been reading and writing. Having this opportunity has been a real kick. My teacher was patient, willing and able to mold the lesson to fit my needs. For example, I don’t need much in the way of grammar help. We were able to focus on pronunciation and lots of conversation practice. Her obvious experience at teaching Spanish as a 2nd language was a great advantage. I’m excited about signing up for more lessons.
Using Skype to have 1 on 1 Spanish lessons with my teacher in Nicaragua has improved my conversation and grammar construction by giving me the time and convenience of being in my own home. Having visual, verbal and written contact with my teacher by means of Skype is the perfect example on how technology can improve and enhance the abilities of language learning.
I love my 1 on 1 Spanish lessons!!! I teach first grade in an elementary schools new Spanish immersion program. I was looking for a convenient, affordable way to practice my Spanish conversation. I was particularly interested in the subjunctive tense. I was blessed enough to win 12 lessons as a door prize at a professional conference over MEA week-end. Mr. Teitelbaum and his associates made every effort to ensure that I successfully connected to my teacher Karla. I have been so impressed with Karla’s skill as an instructor. She knows her material very well. She is patient, kind, dutiful, and very helpful. I mentioned several topics that I teach to my students and she sent me songs and information to help me teach those topics. I am amazed at how “on-target” our lessons are. Any burning questions that come up during the week, Karla can answer by email or we can go over in our lesson. You know how busy teachers are. I would never have signed up for a class that required a large commitment of time on my part, either for the commute, the class time, or the homework, but I can set aside an hour a week to sit at my computer. I wish that I would have had the advantage of my 1 on 1 Spanish classes all during my undergraduate andgraduate classes. I earned a Master’s degree in Second Language Acquisition and Cultural Understanding and I know how helpful these lessons would have been to me during that coursework. I really look forward to my lessons and hope to continue learning with 1 on 1 Spanish for years to come.
I have the highest praise for the quality of teachers, based on my experience with the teacher assigned to me.
She is bright, fun, demanding, helpful, highly organized, and thoroughly enjoyable. She put me through a well planned series of 1 on 1 sessions that gradually exposed me to the entire Spanish language and grammar, and then worked on my vocabulary and comfort in the language. I have had professional lessons in several European languages, and she is the best language teacher I have yet encountered.
